Performance
A 2.0-liter 16-valve four-cylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection powers the LX, LXS, EX, and GT-Line trim levels. With 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque, you have plenty of power to make your daily errands a breeze while motivating you down the highway. Driven with an Intelligent Variable Transmission, it balances power with efficiency. All 2026 K4 sedans and hatchbacks are front-wheel drive.
GT-Line Turbo models offer more excitement with its turbocharged 1.6-liter 16-valve four-cylinder engine with Gasoline Direct Injection. It offers more power, rated at 190 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels.
Both the GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo have a multi-link rear suspension, which provides improved tracking on curvy roads. Four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are standard on all trim levels.
The 2026 K4 sedan and hatchback offer greater levels of efficiency. LX models achieve an EPA rating of 30 MPG in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. All other models with the 23.0-liter engine can achieve up to 29 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on the highway. The GT-Line Turbo model can return around 26 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway.
Exterior
The 2026 K4 sedan and hatchback are among the boldest designs available in its size class. Its sleek front-end design starts with a distinctive LED lighting signature, flanked by a narrow upper grille. The roofline on the sedan is almost fastback-like, with one of the most compelling side glass profiles in its class. You also access the roof doors with hidden handles next to the glass. The trunk is framed by a rear LED lighting signature with a bridge across the liftgate.
The new 2026 K4 hatchback is shorter by 11 inches. The GT-Line Turbo is even shorter by another 4 inches. While sharing many of the body design elements from the sedan, the hatchback features a longer roofline for increased cargo utilization in the rear. The rear door handles are also hidden, while a floating roof profile trim is found on the C/D-pillar. The rear end features an LED lighting signature that frames the hatch, also extending below the glass line. A distinctive rear bumper design with a diffuser is found on GT-Line models.
The LX and LXS sedans ride on 16-inch wheels, while they are upgraded to 17 inches on the EX sedan. The GT-Line sedan and hatchback, GT-Line Turbo sedan and hatchback, and EX hatchback models are equipped with 18-inch wheels. Each trim level has its own unique design, distinguishing itself from other vehicles in the same class.
Interior
The 2026 K4 sedan and hatchback can accommodate up to five passengers inside its roomy cabin. Seats are accommodating and are made with the highest quality materials. LX and LXS models wear cloth upholstery, while EX models offer a premium cloth trim. In the GT-Line model, you have cloth inserts surrounded by SynTex material, whereas the GT-Line Turbo models wear full SynTex upholstery.
The modern cabin offers numerous conveniences. EX models and up have a dual-zone automatic climate control standard to keep everyone cool – and warm – year-round. Rear seat passengers also have their own vents on GT-Line Turbo models. Heated front seats are standard on GT-Line and GT-Line Turbo models. You can also get ventilated front seats on the GT-Line Turbo model.
Loading up the back of your 2026 K4 is easy. On sedan models, there is a generous 14.6 cubic feet of trunk space behind the rear seats. They can be folded down for longer items. Hatchback models offer 22.2 cubic feet of space with the rear seats up, which can be expanded to 59.2 cubic feet.
Technology
Kia is a leader in vehicle technology. That starts with a clean panoramic-style dashboard that stretches in front of the driver. All models come standard with a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is found on EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo models.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are connected to all 2026 K4 infotainment systems. Kia Connect enables these devices to fully integrate with your vehicle. You can charge your devices using the multiple USB ports throughout the cabin. EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo models offer wireless charging, as well.
Audio systems range from four speakers to the eight-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system standard on the GT-Line Turbo. The Kia app on your phone is a clever addition to your 2026 K4 experience. You can set climate control from it, even when you’re at home or at work.
